To the Church in Thyatira
18"To the angel of the church in Thyatira write:
These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze. 19 I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first. 20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. 21 I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. 22 So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. 23 I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds. 24 Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan's so-called deep secrets (I will not impose any other burden on you): 25 Only hold on to what you have until I come. 26 To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations—
27'He will rule them with an iron scepter;
he will dash them to pieces like pottery— just as I have received authority from my Father. 28 I will also give him the morning star. 29 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
my personal Commentary
Thyatira is north of Ephesus, it was a trade center, there were many trade unions in the town, the people here lived in drunkenness, feast, lusts!
God sees these evil!
There were some faithful Christians in the town, with loves, long suffering, and good works, but God still rebuked them! "Good works are God's works!"
Because the woman Jezebel, married with the Israelite king, she forced the Israelites to worship idols like her, and committed great sins.
There was such a woman in the church! teaching them to worship the idols in the town!
Churches do nothing to stop these enemies of Christ, infiltrating the churches!
The Lord rebuked them! Sickness is a kind of punishment from God! It is like a thorn in our body! Suffering is punishment from God! End time suffering and calamities are a kind prelude, judgment from God!
Here the Lord rebuked these Christians, who are doing good works, but they are not good enough! Because they allowed false teaching to infiltrated the church! Those who are following Jezebel, they are to be destroyed! A sign to other churches! A wonder in the end time, a warning to us!
In their good works, they allowed Satanic teachings, what a picture in the end time! She misused the Name of the "Holy Spirit" and continue to mislead the churches, beware of these deep teaching from the false teachers!
She taught them the wrong teachings, heresies, satanic evil! Abusing the freedom to promote evil like racism, terrorism, corruptions...all these sinful things are a norm to the false teachers! False teachers like to use good works to cover up their evil! This is to destroy the commandments from God!
So they live in lusts! Good works in Carnality is useless, divisions is a deathly sins! Without the Holy Spirit we are not Christ's! But we like to use the Name of the Holy Spirit! Blasphemies!
verse 24, Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan's so-called deep secrets (I will not impose any other burden on you):
I WILL NOT IMPOSE ANY OTHER BURDEN ON YOU! is this VPP a extra ordinary burden to us? Why the theologians imposed this on us?
The Lord give some power to His faithful one in the end! To govern the world for a moment, and then the end will come.
Conclusion:
DO NOT IMPOSE ANYTHING! BUT VERSE 25, Only hold on to what you have until I come.
I made a restatement here, hold on to KJV, NKJV, CUV, and the traditional Bible versions, hold on to what we have, IF THEY ARE FAITHFUL BIBLE VERSIONS, especially those 5000 manuscripts, UNTIL HE COME!
DO NOT IMPOSE VPP!
HOLD ON, AND DO NOT IMPOSING ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT WE HAVE TO HOLD ON TO!
