Error in KJV

Another problem is found in KJV, Act 19:37 "For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess."

Act 19:37 ηγαγετε γαρ τους ανδρας τουτους ουτε ιεροσυλους ουτε βλασφημουντας την θεαν υμων

The word translated "robbers of churches" should be "robbers of temple."

The Greek word is ἱερόσυλος, hierosulos, hee-er-os'-oo-los, a temple despoiler.

In the context of Acts 19, the townclerk's point is that two Christians they have detained must be released since they have obviously not robbed the temple of Diana!

The better reading is NIV, "You have brought these men here, though they have neither robbed temples nor blasphemed our goddess."

Error in KJV

Another clear example is found in Act 12:4 "ον και πιασας εθετο εις φυλακην παραδους τεσσαρσιν τετραδιοις στρατιωτων φυλασσειν αυτον βουλομενος μετα το πασχα αναγαγειν αυτον τω λαω."

KJV Acts 12:4, "And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people."

No one questions that the word translated "Easter" is actually "Passover" πάσχα, pascha,

Strong Hebrew and Greek dictioneries:

Greek, πάσχα, pas'-khah, the Passover (the meal, the day, the festival or the special sacrifices connected with it)

Hebrew, פּסח, pesach, peh'-sakh, a pretermission, that is, exemption; used only technically of the Jewish Passover (the festival or the victim): - passover (offering).

In the context of Acts 12, Herod proceed to arrest Peter and kill him also after James was killed (v 3) however, because this happened during the Passover season, 14th day of Nisan and was followed by the week long Feast of Unleavened Bread, any part of the eight-day celebration could be referred to as Passover, (Luke 22:1), Nothing to do with Christian celebration of Christ's resurrection!

The term "Easter" came to be applied to the anniversary of Christ's resurrection only by 8th century later.

So the correct reading for Acts 12:4 is in NIV, ESV and others Bible versions:

NIV, "After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover."

ESV, "And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people."

A new Synod of Bible Presbyterian in Singapore

If you are truly called for a new synod in Bible Presbyterian Churches here in South East Asia, I have a few suggestions for you all:

1. Accept one and another differences!

2. Accept drums and contemporary music in the worship

3. Accept tongue speaking in the churches.

4. Accept miracles and healings in the churches.

5. Accept separatist stand for the Lord.

6. Accept NIV and ESV and other Bible versions in the churches.

7. Accept Christ Jesus as the Moderator in the new synod.

Error in KJV

In Matthew 23:24 the KJV reads:

Mat 23:24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Instead of "strain at a gnat" the correct reading is "strain out a gnat"

Greek word is "strain out" διυλιζοντες,

Strong and Hebrew Dictioneries:

διῦλίζω

diulizō

dee-oo-lid'-zo

From G1223 and ὑλίζω hulizō (to filter); to strain out. (“strain at” is probably by misprint.)

The correction reading is:

ESV, Mat 23:24 You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!

Westminster Confession

Let us hear the conclusion of the matter: the Westminster assembly of divines, their views being plainly expressed in their famous Confession, cannot legitimately be appealed to as providing aid and encouragement to those who claim perfect preservation of Scripture in the copying or translating processes, and who claim perfection for one translation (the KJV) in one language (English). For KJV Only advocates to claim the agreement of the WCF with their views is a gross misrepresentation and distortion, not unlike their blatant abuse and misinterpretation of such Scripture texts as Psalm 12:6, 7; Matthew 5:18; and Matthew 24:35 to the same end.

Error in Far Eastern Bible College

The Bible Presbyterian Church in Singapore was founded in 1950 by Rev Dr Timothy Tow. It is essentially divided into two factions. One group of churches subscribes to the fundamentalist stance of the founders; the other considers itself to be evangelical. This latter group of churches is denounced by the former to be "neo-evangelical" or "liberal", and are often called "the new B-Ps" because of a different interpretation on the doctrine of "Biblical Separation". The evangelical branch of Bible Presbyterian churches embraces the fellowship of any church and seminary that professes evangelical Protestant Christianity and extends cooperation with para-church organizations like Campus Crusade for Christ International. Thus, many aspiring ministers prefer an evangelical seminary (such as Fuller Theological Seminary, Singapore Bible College, Trinity Theological College, Singapore or University of Nottingham) over the B-P's own seminary, Far Eastern Bible College, which is fundamentalist.

Cruel Bible Presbyterian pastor

There are some good pastors in Bible Presbyterian churches, I knew many of them who are humble and full of the grace of God. Who speak the truth in love.

I also came to know many of those cruel, cold blood Bible Presbyterian pastors, from the way they speak and talk, they are behaving like a cold blood serpent, I knew they never read the Bible well enough! May be too busy, I forgive them, but I like to called them the cold blood pastors!

Why they are so cold blooded, because they like to be cruel to others, especially when they are defending the Bible and fundamentalism. In other word they are cold blood fundamentalist.

When they are defending this doctrine so called "fundamentalism," they become cold blooded, no humanity and humility in them! After they laid out their course apologetically in defending the Bible and fundamentalism, they become proud, seeing themselves as the only faithful and only fundamentalist in the last days, they see themselves as faithful as Paul and Peter the Apostles, they never admit they are lack of love, they did not know that they are hard head stiff necked cold blood pastors in the end! They are still going strong for their ways, only God may turn them away in the end!

For this reason I say, the Bible Presbyterians have to see that they are no better than others, short of grace of God. What is the fuss in pursuing that fundamentalism, at the end God reject them, because God do not know them, because they are cruel, cold blood, hard head, stiff necked, proud!

I am not against fundamentalism, but why these pastors acted in such a cruel and cold blood way in defending it, aren't all Christian are brothers?

Mat 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

When he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees. The two principal religious sects. The first originated in the time of the Maccabees, and were a kind of Jewish Puritans, but had in the Savior's time degenerated into a set of formalists, who paid far more attention to outward forms than to inner life. They were scrupulous in observing ceremonies, very orthodox, but were filled with spiritual pride. From an early period of Christ's ministry they opposed him. The other principal sect of the Jews, the Sadducees, derived their name from Sadduc, the founder of the sect; were irreligious, sensual and skeptical. They were materialists, and denied "angel, spirit, or the resurrection of the dead." Annas and Caiaphas, the high priests, were Sadducees.

Generation of vipers. The guilty, corrupted race had become a generation of vipers; not only poisoned, but poisonous, hateful to God, hating one another. The viper is hateful, full of hate, and dangerous.

Who hath warned you? Malachi (Mal_3:2; Mal_4:5) had predicted the wrath to come. John's question expresses doubt of their sincerity.

Discontentment

We have NIV, KJV, ESV..... in English Bible, and the English Bible was translated into so many languages, but sad to say, the theologians in Far Eastern Bible College say, it is not enough, all these Bibles are not enough, they said we must have a perfect Bible, this perfect Bible consists a perfect Hebrew OT Bible and a perfect Greek NT Bible. This is what i say "discontentment."

So what happened to them? Bible Presbyterian Churches split here and there, people sadden now and then, pastors being chased away one by one! Lawsuit in the high court at last, but they are still not content! Murmuring for how corrupted NIV is, and continually attacking other faithfull translation such as the ESV, NKJV, NIV....

They think they are cleverer than God, they think they can do a better job, this is a sin of greedy! Sin of pride!

Lucifer was in heaven, he was discontented about the place God put him there! Same thing happened now on these so called theologians in Far Eastern Bible College!

Complaining and murmuring about the Bible Versions! They are self proclaimed "best theologians" in the whole world!

BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS

edited and copied from http://www.gracebpc.org.sg/weekly/2011/June%202011/1906/gwc.htm

The Bible is full of warnings about false teachers and preachers who have infiltrated the church (2 Peter 2: 1-2). They are called the "antichrists" (1 John 2: 18). They will bring in destructive doctrines and heresies. Watch out, be alert and watchful.

In the Bible-Presbyterian Church we have seen extreme teachings like some people who advocate VPP. These people teach that the King James Version (KJV) is the only Bible God gave to the English speaking world. They also say that God has preserved the Manuscripts underlining the KJV to be "inspired". Hence, the KJV is the "perfect" Bible and all other translations are corrupt. Such teachings are dangerous and it could lead to heresy.

Gracians, we must be mindful that the church will always face such extreme or heretical teachings. These people will try their best to infiltrate the church and if they ever get into the church, there will be great confusion and trouble.

Let us keep ourselves faithful to the Word of God.
