The Gospel

The Gospel centers on God’s redemptive action through Christ. At its core lies a historical reality: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day (1 Cor 15:1–4)—these events form the foundation of Christian faith.

The Gospel addresses humanity’s fundamental problem. All have sinned and fall short of God’s glory (Rom 3:23–24), and sin’s consequence is death (Rom 6:23). Yet God demonstrates His love by having Christ die for us while we were still sinners (Rom 5:8). This wasn’t coerced—God loved the world so deeply that He gave His only Son (John 3:16), and God made Christ, who had no sin, to be sin for us, so that we might become God’s righteousness (2 Cor 5:21).

Salvation comes through faith, not achievement. You are saved by grace through faith—this is not from yourselves but is God’s gift, not by works, so no one can boast (Eph 2:8–9). If you declare that Jesus is Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Rom 10:9–10). To all who received Him and believed in His name, He gave the right to become God’s children (John 1:12).

The Gospel is ultimately transformative. It is God’s power that brings salvation to everyone who believes (Rom 1:16). God has given us eternal life in His Son—whoever has the Son has life (1 John 5:11–12). Jesus called people to repent and believe this good news (Mark 1:14–15), inviting them into restored relationship with God through Christ’s accomplished work.
